Celebrating #NationalCerealDay
Things have been so crazy for the past few weeks for me. There has been a lot going on with work and at the same time I’ve been doing my darnedest to stay social and meeting new folks! But, sometimes it is important to take some time to sit down with a bowl of cereal and enjoy an episode of Golden Girls every once in a while! You feel? Well if you missed my latest Instagram, yesterday was #NationalCerealDay. I work at General Mills with cereal, so these past few weeks have been a storm of exciting and challenging new tasks/experiences! I wanted to get this post in yesterday (when it was…

As Promised, A Few Oscar Thoughts
The Oscar’s last night were a whirlwind and I didn’t even catch the entire live broadcast. I was sporadically checking in on Twitter and then spent a good bit of time the morning after catching up. Keep that in mind when you are reading this post. A few thoughts: Best Picture. The “Best Picture” mishap was the biggest highlight that I garnered from my in-depth research (read: Facebook/Twitter scrolling). Moonlight won the award instead of Hollywood’s baby, La La Land. Four Pounds of Pork for One…
This past weekend when I had the house to myself, I decided to make a nice meal with plenty of leftovers to sustain me through a weekend of Golden Girls on the couch. It was cooked in the slow cooker, so I knew that it would be a great jumping off point for me. For Under $10 I walked out of the store with a beautiful 4 pound pork shoulder, fresh…

Jack’s 2017 Oscar Ballot
I have been running (read as: sprinting) from movie to movie for the past month and some change to mentally prepare myself for this post. I love movies. I also love a good gamble. SO, filling out an Oscar Ballot makes a lot of sense to me each year. A few friends and I all fill out ballots each year and compare scores. (I have a strong track record if memory serves *wink*) Usually, I don’t make it to as many movies as I’d like to in time for the Oscars, but this year was different. I found a great $5 weekday movie theater and made a list of what I’d…

Under The Weather… Beautiful Weather… Now Snow?
I have been meaning to come on and write a quick post over the last week, but you know what they say: life happens! My work has been really kicking into high gear while I was still getting through my sickness, which is never the best combination. This post is going to be very lifestyle-y as I try to catch you up on my last week and a half. Regular programming will continue as the week goes on including an AWESOME slow cooker pork roast recipe. My cold lasted 10 days. So, I am not a doctor , but I’ve had a lot of colds in my life. (Up to this point,…
