Living My Best Life In 2018
Howdy folks. I’ve been thinking a lot about resolutions, vision statements, words of the year, etc. etc. over the last couple of weeks. My goal for my goals (lol) was to take one of these things and translate that into more of a long-form post here on LivingNimbly. However, from this process, I learned that I wanted to do the exact opposite. I’ve done them all in the past, and this year, I am intentionally taking a break. I was totally moved by the amazing Twin Cities-area copywriter, Kayla Hollatz after reading one of her instagram stories last week. After she spent a couple stories describing her plans for 2018, she said:…

By The Numbers: LivingNimbly 2017
I am still here in Maryland with the family for a couple more days until I head back to Minnesota for the new year. This has given me more time to write and work on the blog than I’ve had pretty much all year, so I am taking advantage of it! If you noticed, I just gave the blog a new theme; though I still have a bit more tinkering to do on it, it is pretty lit right now. A facelift for 2018. My Scrappy 2017
The year is winding down, and I wanted to take a moment to meditate on a one word of my professional life that I owned this past year. I am so committed to it that you can see it on my @LivingNimbly Instagram bio. That is #commitment This label is “scrappy.” As you may know, I wear a couple of different hats in my professional life: communication freelancer, corporate contractor, and blogger. I am someone who loves a good side hustle. It may provide extra financial freedom or the opportunity to work on passion projects. Which are both good things for me … totally! As long as the work-life balance…

Friday Feels: Ready For It?
Just wanted to check in with a quick Friday Feels. I worked from home most of the week, so I wanted to make sure I catalogued this week… you know… for prosperity’s sake. Also, it has been a minute since I’ve written in a casual tone. … which was fun to right but not as casual as #FridayFeels. ANYWAYS… 1. It has been so cold this week. I can’t even handle it. Today was 15 degrees. And, being stubborn ol’ me, I was sticking it to mother nature and not wearing gloves or a hat when I wandered off to the coffee shop today. Huge mistake. It’s so cold…ugh… 2.…

6 Lessons From Duck Camp
As a pretty-liberal, city-dwelling twenty-something, I get a couple of odd looks when I say: “Yeah, I’m heading north this weekend to hide in tall grass, shoot at some ducks, and take care of my business in an outhouse.” Each year, our group heads up to northwest Minnesota in hopes of shooting ducks, but really focusing on spending quality time together. We get all decked out in camouflage, and make the journey up to the “Duck Camp.” There is something magical about unplugging from the everyday technological drone and, instead, connecting to the moment and experience of the great outdoors. Time spent around campfire talking about life rather than binging…
